We are currently experiencing degraded performance affecting delivery of SMS to Safaricom Kenya phone numbers.
This is a result of a platform change undertaken by Safaricom to migrate SMS services to a new gateway resulting in resource constraints on the existing SMS gateway hence the intermittent delivery issues.
Safaricom planning team have scheduled specific days to migrate SMS Service providers to the new gateway. We are scheduled to be migrated on Thursday 9th July.
Before then, we are working with Safaricom engineers to optimize our platform so as to manage the degraded platform services on Safaricom side and minimize the impact.
